The Day the Earth Stood Still

The Day the Earth Stood Still is a 2008 science fiction film
, a remake of the 1951 film of the same name. Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, the film updates Cold War themes like nuclear warfare to the more contemporary issue of man's environmental damage to the planet.
Overall: Boring...
I have some parts not very understand, like the beginning of the movie, what is the meaning of the mark on the hand of Klaatu. The USA is in trouble, where is the USA president.

The funny things is Keanu speak Chinese in the movie with a Chinese old guy. I can listen Keanu's Chinese well, but that old guy's Chinese I can't listen very clearly.

But on this movie, we can get a message, that is save the earth before it is too late. The god will punish us someday. And the people never changed until the last minute. In Chinese, we call it '人不见棺材,不流眼泪'. :p

I think it's a good movie.. In the beginning, the mark on the hand is not on Klaatu's hand, it's on the hand of the HUMAN vessel that Klaatu was born as. In other words, the sphere in the beginning took the human's DNA back to make a human vessel for Klaatu. I can understand wad the old guy's saying, it's Klaatu's chinese a little weird weird haha.. the president's at the white house giving orders what to do and the fat lady just executes them, so no need to show the US president's face coz president din go find Klaatu mah.. I guess the movie is trying to say that when a big disaster arrives, we humans will only realize our mistakes... 的确,人不见棺材,不流眼泪 haha...
