Windows 8 on HP Pavilion tx2032

My 4 years old laptop HP Pavilion tx2032 still can support to upgrade the OS to Windows 8 which launched recently.

There are two Windows 7 desktop gadgets which I must installed in my computer. They can told me that performance of my computer and also the download speed.

Windows 7 RC Installed

Just finish download the Windows 7 x64 build 7100. I install it after burn it to DVD. I heard this version is the RC (release candidate). The public download is allow on 5 May. But there already got download links in the Internet. There are some changes and improvements in this RC version.

Windows 7 Ultimate on My Laptop

I'm just upgrade my Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate yesterday. It looks pretty nice. The boot screen was changed with the flying Windows logo.

I like the Windows 7's taskbar. It is very convenient to use. The visual effect also nice. It tab the windows smooth and fast.I found that my touch screen can't functioning as well without the stylus pen. I just can touch the screen with with the pen only. So disappointed I can't test the multi-touch technology. And also the Kaspersky Internet Security haven't support Windows 7 yet, but the Kaspersky released the technical preview of KAV for Windows 7.

Windows 7 Beta released

The latest Windows is released on the brand new year 2009. I give a high expectation on this Windows 7. I hope this time Microsoft doesn't disappoints the users again. I am now downloading the Windows 7 Beta 64-bit. Microsoft will be give a product key of Windows 7 and it will stop working on 1 August 2009.

The minimum requirements stated in the Microsoft's website is:

• 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor

• 1 GB of system memory

• 16 GB of available disk space

• Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)

• DVD-R/W Drive

• Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)

I think the requirements to run the Windows 7 smoothly are higher than those specs. If the PC or laptop that can run Windows Vista smoothly, then there is no problem to run Windows 7.

I want to test the Windows 7's multi-touch technology on my laptop as well. It looks fantastic.

Web Server Building

My lecturer gave us two assignments. The first one is making a blog and the second one is building a web server. I'm quite interesting to do these.

The first assignment was done last week. I had made my second blog - Who am I. I had to submit a report about the procedures of making the blog and publishing the post. I intend not to care about it because it was my assignment.

The second assignment was also done in yesterday. I had built a server in my computer. The procedures was quite easy with the help of my friend. First of all, we have to install 2 software, that are WAMP Server and Macromedia Dreamweaver. After that, we have to setup the database and the password refer to the guides in JLBN website. Then, we have to choose an open source CMS (Content Management System) such as Joomla and Mambo to install in computer. I choose Mambo and firefox (browser) and type http://localhost to begin the installation. After that, we can access the administrator to edit the content. Above are just some simple procedures, can ask me for more details.

Difficult to Sign In MSN

Recently, I just applied the Streamyx 1.0Mbps. I found that I'm very difficult to sign in MSN. Some of my friends are also experience this problem. Thus, I have find the alternative ways to sign in MSN. There are some website provide this kind of services such as Ebuddy.com. But, I don't very like it because of it's interface. I found another better website. It is ILoveIM.com Web Messenger and Meebo.com.

ILoveIM.com's interface is more user friendly. Other than that, it also connected with Yahoo, AOL and Gtalk messengers. If you have experience same problem like me, you can try it out.

Online Game Addicted

Recently, I addicted with this online game - TianJi(天机) Online. I played from the time I woke up until midnight, even got Euro's football match also didn't watch.

I bought this laptop HP Pavilion TX2032AU (Entertainment Notebook PC) during the study week in the Ipoh's PC Fair. Its price is RM2799 + 2 years warranty RM199 = RM2998.

My Laptop had been stolen

24 March 2008 - is a sad day for me and my friend, Dezmond because our laptops had been stolen.

When I'm back from the class at 4.30pm, found that my laptop on my table in my hostel's room had gone!!!

We were rush to the office and told the officers but they can do nothing. They were just writing a report and told us go to the police station to make a report. I know that our laptops can't be found.

All the room's doors were locked, just like normal but the thief still can came inside and took the laptops away. May be our door was easy to open. My friends told me that just had to use a card can opened the door easily.

If I'm finish download my stuff, I will keep my laptop in the locker. Unfortunately, it didn't. I just left my laptop on the table. I always be like that almost 1 years.

OMG... My long reports and Uni stuff all inside my laptop. All gone! Have to do it again. Worse is that my friend's laptop has the assignment which has to submit on the next day. He has to do the edition again until 3am.

What can I do? My laptop is COMPAQ PRESARIO V3040TU(left hand side is mine,right hand side is Dezmond one).
